The 22nd Edition of Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference & Exhibition (DIHAD 2026) is being held in Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).

It will run from 24-26 August 2026 and will see over 21,000 participants and 1,000 organisations from more than 165 countries converge. The theme for the year, Humanitarianism in Transition: Shaping the Future of Humanitarian Action, focuses on the nature of humanitarian responses that are evolving in the world.

Dubai Becomes a Hub for Humanitarian Dialogue

Hosted by the Zurich-based private think tank IRIS, DIHAD 2026 is an opportunity for humanitarian leaders from policymakers, aid organisations, development and international bodies, and the private sector to discuss the challenges humanitarian systems face in responding to more complex humanitarian emergencies.

With over 320 speakers in 260 sessions and workshops, the conference will provide a forum to discuss funding, humanitarian emergency response, innovative technology and sustainable solutions.

Tackling the Global Aid Funding Gap

Funding insecurity and the increasing demand for food aid are among the key issues. As traditional aid investments face budgetary constraints, participants are looking at other ways to finance their investments, a more robust relationship with the development banks and increased private-sector generosity.

For the first time, senior humanitarian policy makers were being gathered in advance of the exhibition for a discussion on the strategic priorities and priorities for crisis response, as part of the event’s executive programme in collaboration with UN-OCHA.

Denmark Showcases Sustainable Humanitarian Innovation

Denmark, the guest of honour, is offering solutions in a special pavilion of its own. It takes its focus on humanitarian technology and innovation to respect the environment and sustainable health services to facilitate rapid, efficient humanitarian action.

There are also a number of major events taking place at DIHAD 2026. They are the First Aid World Cup Finals (with the organisers of IFRC), the first IFRC-DREF GCC Conference and the 17th International Emergency and Catastrophe Management conference.

These events expand the scope of humanitarian finance to emergency preparedness, first aid and catastrophe management.
