Omani and Bahraini Companies Sign Six Trade Agreements to Boost Exports and Trade
Omani companies signed six commercial agreements and memoranda of understanding with Bahraini companies to enhance the level of trade cooperation and provide Omani products with more new opportunities in the various markets of the Gulf countries in various regions.
The deals were signed in conjunction with Oman’s presence at the “Made in the GCC 2026” forum and exhibition. It is an effort to bring the national companies closer to the market of the importers, distributors and possible commercial partners in the region.
Agreements Open New Export Opportunities
The agreements are part of Oman Exports work to transform participation in regional events into tangible export opportunities and long-term business collaborations in general, as part of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion’s (MCII) efforts to this end.
The agreements include various industrial categories and reflect the industrial sectors’ capabilities to provide high quality products, in relation to production capacity and competitiveness, to the market, officials said.
Oman Highlights Industrial Growth
Omani participants were also invited to participate in dialogue sessions on various aspects of Gulf economic development. The following topics were discussed: industrial talent, smart factories, open innovation, development of supply-chains, financing and industrial partnerships.
The sessions demonstrated the need for building a skilled workforce in the Gulf countries, implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies and enhancing the connectivity between industrial areas, ports, economic zones and borders.
Focus on Stronger GCC Trade Links
Oman Exports global marketing function extends beyond participating in the exhibition committee, as many companies are also trained to enter the market, conducting B2B meetings on business displayed at the exhibition and establishing relationships with the buyers and distributors.
The memoranda with Bahraini firms are hoped to help increase the penetration of Omani products in Bahrain and the Gulf and wider regional markets.
Strengthening export pathways remained part of Oman’s wider efforts to bolster the competitiveness of its industries and promote diversified exports beyond petroleum and build sustainable commercial ties with other GCC countries.
