UAE Envoy Visits Singapore to Advance Economic and Investment Cooperation
The UAE is keen to strengthen the economic relationship with the Singapore Market after H.E. Badr Jafar of the UAE visited Singapore for three days. The visit was expanded to trade, investment, advanced manufacturing, infrastructure and philanthropistic collaboration.
UAE–Singapore Economic Cooperation
Overall, the aim of this visit was to broaden the scope of UAE-Singapore ties. The deliberations emphasized bridging the gap between institutional investments and high-growth companies and infrastructure schemes. UAE-Singapore are seeking to engage in cooperation in production, logistics & digital economy sectors to expand market access and enhance supply chains and regional economic development.
Bilateral Trade and Investment
According to the figures provided, bilateral trade in goods increased from $39.32 billion in 2024 to $43.71 billion in 2025. The UAE, however, continues to be the biggest trade partner for Singapore in the Middle East. UAE direct investment in Singapore has reached $ 5.12 billion and about 230 Singapore based businesses have already operated in UAE since 2003.
Industrial Partnerships and Global Engagement
During the 17th Abu Dhabi-Singapore Joint Forum, the matter of Abu Dhabi and Singapore’s investment co-operation and developmental plan for an industrial corridor between the two economies was discussed.
Potential areas range from advanced manufacturing, ports and logistics to digital transformation. Jafar has also been an active partaker in the Forbes Global CEO Conference and Milken Institute Asia Summit, where he interacted with decision makers from across the world such as Singapore’s Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.
Philanthropy and Sustainable Development
The visit has made a significant contribution to the discussion of possible contributions from philanthropic capital to support locally-driven efforts and sustainable development. Emerging technologies were part of the discussions and how to responsibly use them. The meeting demonstrates the desire to achieve mutually beneficial commercial investments between both countries and builds on the economic relationship between the UAE-Singapore.
