Sheikh Maktoum Meets BPCE Chief to Explore Expanded Collaboration

His Highness Sheikh Maktoum had discussions with GT’s Nicolas Namias, CEO of the French banking and financial services sector group of BPCE, to discuss possibilities for financial collaboration on a wider scale.

The meeting emphasized enhancing collaboration among institutions between the UAE and European banking circles, including retail banking and commercial investments and advanced financial services.

Strengthening UAE France Financial Cooperation

The meetings highlighted the potential for further collaboration between financial institutions and more strategic partnerships between the UAE and France, in financial fields. Both parties looked into possibilities of further developing cooperation to promote cross-border investments and sustainable economic development.

Groupe BPCE, one of the biggest banking groups in France, is a possible ally to further stabilize European financial relations with the Gulf region.

Dubai as a Global Financial Hub

Dubai is a trusted international financial center, with cutting-edge infrastructure, a conducive business landscape and a flexible regulatory system, Sheik Maktoum said.

The UAE Finance Minister announced the Dubai International Financial Centre, as one of the UAE’s vital pillars for the financial industry and a proven destination for international institutions to expand their regional presence and enter into new markets.

Expanding Financial Opportunities Across MEASA

During the meeting, it was also recognised that Dubai has the potential to be a major hub for Groupe BPCE in the MEASA region.

Dubai’s financial strength, business-friendly policies and global connectivity make it a destination for global institutions seeking long-term growth.The UAE and European markets could unlock more investment, financial innovation and commercial opportunities through closer collaboration.
