Oman Unveils New Air Route Ahead of Hajj Season for Pilgrims
The Kingdom of Oman is getting ready to further rationalize the travel of pilgrims for the upcoming Hajj season through a new air transport route. The decision to increase the number of Muslim pilgrims comes after consultations of authorised Hajj operators with prospective Muslim pilgrims, announced the MoARA.
New Air Route to Improve Hajj Travel
To facilitate efficient pilgrim travel to Saudi Arabia, the Oman Hajj Air Route was organized to help support safer travel. The plan is part of the search by the sultanate of Oman to boost air transport and cut down on the congestion of long-haul land journeys.
Focus on Safety and Faster Transfers
The new route will ease pressures of travel and ease movement of pilgrims after they enter Saudi Arabia. Other airports, such as Taif, could ensure quicker onward travel to the holy sites and ease congestion at key arrival airports to help ease traffic congestion.
Pilgrims Advised to Pack Light
The Oman Hajj Mission and registered operators have notified pilgrims that they must only have what is necessary. An additional Ihram, one extra prayer mat and other medically necessary items are among those recommended. As too much luggage might cause physical strain while walking from Arafat to Mina, Muzdalifah to Arafat and Arafat to Makkah.
