Saudi Arabia Forecasts Wetter Conditions and Temperatures Up to 3°C Higher Through November
The Saudi NCM latest forecast is for a wetter and hotter autumn for Saudi Arabia. The Saudi weather forecast predicts above-average rainfall for some areas, and temperatures may be up to 3°C higher than normal in November.
Temperatures Expected to Remain Above Average
The Saudi National Centre of Meteorology anticipates that surface temperatures throughout the majority of the Kingdom will be between 1℃ and 3℃ higher than normal fall temperatures. In the north-west and the central part of the country, Tabuk, Al-Jouf, and Riyadh will probably have cooler nights, while the temperatures will stay very high during the day.
Rainfall Could Increase Across Several Regions
The forecast indicates above normal rainfall with increased chances is seen over most parts of Saudi Arabia. Heavy rains are forecast to fall in the regions of western highlands (Makkah, Aseer, Al-Baha and Jazan), Northern Borders and Al-Jouf.
Storms and Flash Flood Risks
The wetter pattern will bring some thunderstorms, heavy rainfall and isolated flash flooding, most especially in low lying areas. Moisture from the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf may also help to generate more dust with weak winds.
Authorities Urge Continued Weather Monitoring
The NCM has called on local municipalities and transport units as well as citizens to stay up to date on the situation through its Early Warning System on a daily basis. Seasonal forecasts will also play a key role in providing a big picture understanding of weather patterns, while shorter-range forecasts will carry on being vital in tracking individual storm cells and in preparing infrastructure for unexpected weather shifts.
