kuwait paci announces temporary closure

The Public Authority for Civil Information of Kuwait (PACI) announced on 30 September that the visitors will not be received at PACE of Jahra for the whole day. General visitors services will be closed for the period of time that the temporary closure is in effect, but civil id card collection will continue at the branch.

The announcement applies to citizens and residents who have intentions of visiting to transact civil information with PACI. The authority has many branches in Kuwait and offers both online and offline services for application for civil IDs and administrative procedures.

Jahra Branch Closure on September 30

The Jahra branch will not be open to visitors for just one day, on September 30, according to PACI. People with regular accounts, bookings. should not come in on the day of the temporary service adjustment and should come in on the next working day.

The announcement comes on the heels of other recent short term branch service changes by PACI. The authority has also communicated information concerning short-term changes to individual branches through its official news sources.

Civil ID Collection Remains Available

Importantly, the temporary suspension will not cease distribution of Civil ID cards at the Jahra facility. Notify those who’ve been told their physical Civil IDs are available to continue with this card collection service.

The published contact information for PACI includes Jahra as one of their collection sites for civil ID’s. The collection hours for it at its Jahra (Ewre) branch are 7:30am to 1pm, and 3pm to 7pm. However, visitors should check the latest PACI notice before travelling as these may be subject to change.

Digital Services Offer an Alternative

With electronic services when available, PACI’s customers who do not require to visit a branch can utilize PACI’s electronic services. PACI offers services online such as civil ID status inquiry, payment of some of the fees and other individual services.

The Kuwaiti ID system is also digital ID which is also used for identity verification and authentication for accessible e-services. PACI states that Mobile ID is available in the app or via existing self-service mechanisms.

What Residents Should Do?

If people have details other than urgent ones, they should postpone their visit to the Jahra branch, until the time of resumption of normal visit reception. If you are using a ready Civil ID, please check up to date operational arrangements before travelling, especially to visit on 30 September.

Overall, due to the relatively small number of users affected by the card change, the one-day adjustment will remain restricted in scope while other forms of electronic services, including from the card distribution initiative, will remain available to eligible users.
