How to Pay Your UAE Utility Bills Directly from Your LuLu Salary Card
Thousands of employees in the UAE have now come to rely on pay through the Wages Protection System. Once again, a lot of workers think that they require a standard bank account so as to pay their utility bills. This notion isn’t correct. If your payroll card is credited by your company via LuLu Salary Card, MyPay MyCard or Ratibi, you will be able to pay your bills directly from your payroll card with the account balance.
The LuLu Money system isn’t just a regular salary distribution platform. Nowadays its customers can settle their electricity bill, water bill, mobile phone bill, internet bill and some international payments with their smart phones or from LuLu Exchange branches.
How the LuLu Salary Card Works?
A LuLu Salary Card is a payroll system for workers who have salaries paid in WPS. Workers get their monthly pay directly to a secure payroll card issued through LuLu Exchange and financial partners, rather than via a regular bank account.
After the card is connected to the LuLu Money App, it turns into a virtual financial instrument that lets users pay bills, pull cash, shop and make remittances without having to visit a bank. This means there is more money to choose from, which is important for bankers who cannot pay the minimum salary for some types of banking services.
Using the LuLu Money App to Pay Utility Bills
The simplest, quickest way to pay any utility bills is the LuLu Money App. Once users install the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, they can sign up with their Emirates ID card, UAE mobile number and email. The setup is completed with a secure OTP verification process.
After login, they will be directly redirected to the ‘Bill Payments’ section from the home screen. It is integrated with a few UAE’s top service providers and enables them to view and pay bills from a single app. This way you won’t have to go to the payment center or stand in line.
Paying ADDC, SEWA, Etisalat, and du Bills
It is also new with the bill payment feature, which is available in several providers across the UAE. Users can pay bills to Abu Dhabi Distribution Company, SEWA, Dubai charges and bills to e& and du companies (Etisalat and du) via their telebanking accounts.
Users just type in their consumer number or account ID to make a payment. New balance on the outstanding balance is automatically pulled from the provider’s database. Users will compare the bill amount and choose their LuLu Salary Card as the payment medium and also verify the transaction with a secure OTP.
They are paid immediately and the payment receipt will be generated digitally for future references. This enables easy and safe paperless monthly bill handling.
Alternative Option: Paying Bills at a LuLu Exchange Branch
LuLu Exchange offers bill payment in all its wide-spreading network of branches in UAE, catering to face-to-face assistance for those who prefer it. All customers can visit support centers with their LuLu Salary Card and Emirates ID at the counter to request payments of their utilities.
The teller will check the account information and make the payment from the amount of funds available on the salary card. This can also be beneficial for those not particularly tech savvy or in need of further assistance with transactions using mobile applications.
Charges and Fees Understanding
The biggest advantage that might be encountered while using the LuLu Salary Card for bill payments is low transaction fee percentages. The greatest benefit that might be noticed during bill payments with LuLu Salary Card is that the transaction fees percentages will be fairly small. The convenience fee fee is either free or low (AED 2 maximum) on most local utility bills paid via LuLu Money App depending on the service provider.
There will usually be no extra charges incurred when rehearsing the Telecom recharge for both Etisalat and du. It is important that users check the current fee schedule in the Application, however with this service, as with many others, fees could change depending on the payment category and the provider.
If the payment is made abroad using a special network, it will cost from AED 5 to AED 15, also depending on the cross border country and service.
Why Are More Workers Using LuLu Salary Cards for Daily Payments?
The increasing popularity of LuLu Salary Cards is due to ease and access. In the past, the employee had to have a separate bank account to pay the bills, the usual routine no longer applies. Whether it’s salary management or utility bills and remittances, everything can be done on a single digital platform.
As Dubai continues to implement digital financial platforms, payroll cards are proving to be a viable option for employees who wish to have more flexibility over managing their finances without the minimum balance and restrictions of traditional banking.
