UAE Severs Ties with Birth and Death Certificates, All Online.
The United Arab Emirates has made the final step in sending birth and death certificate registrations fully online. There are no longer any manual or paper registrations, whether at the Emirates Health Services corporation in the Northern Emirates, or the Ministry of Health and Prevention in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, both of which will continue to manage these registrations through their local health authorities.
Previously if you needed a birth or death certificate you would need to go to the relevant health authorities to complete the application in person. Now, using the EHS online registration system just a resident can do it all online. It’s a simple, fast process that usually generates the certificate in under a working day, unless rejected for an outstanding reason, for a very reasonable fee.
The government of the United Arab Emirates has also introduced a “Mabrouk Ma Yak” package for Emiratis. This package takes so much hassle out of the way for new parents, as it comes with a package that includes an Emirates ID, birth certificates, and passports for their newborns in one go.

This revision also follows the UAE’s national strategy of developing a smart and digital government in order to enhance customer experience and reduce red tape. Authorities also encouraged residents to utilize online platforms to more efficiently and effectively manage their vital records.
By getting rid of manual registration, the UAE continues to make strides ahead of the region, again showing a commitment to a more nimble and customer-centric public service experience.
