If you’re looking for a fun educational day trip outside of Doha, Panda House Park in Al Khor is a great place to be able to see giant pandas in a special setting. The giant pandas were donated to Qatar as part of the 2022 FIFA World Cup by the Chinese government and the facility is part of the project.

It combines the indoor, controlled environment panda enclosures with the gardens surrounding them and family-friendly areas. The controlled environment also gives the parents space which they can enjoy in Qatar’s warm climate.

Panda House Park: Quick Visitor Guide

Panda House is located next to Al Khor Park in Al Khor, Qatar. Fortunately, a visitor questionnaire provided tells us that the facility is open every day between 9-00 AM and 5-00 PM, and gives families plenty of flexibility.

The prices for Adults will pay QAR 50 and children below 14 years will pay QAR 20. Tickets are available online via Oun (Ministry of Municipality Digital Services).

What Can Families Expect?

The centrepiece is the specially designed panda enclosure which is a completely enclosed setting. The building features temperature-controlled areas designed to “re-create” the pandas’ native environment in Sichuan province, China.

The panda visit could be coupled with time in the surrounding outdoor gardens, and family play areas. This is also ideal for families wanting to enjoy a fuller day out than a mere zoo visit, as they will be able to enjoy their time here and see the animals too.

Visiting Panda House can be easier as it is a family favourite resort, therefore it’s better to check and book availability before travelling. Another plus point is that the heating/cooling environment of the enclosure and walkways will help to keep things cool, especially in Qatar’s summer season. However, when families are spending time in the outdoor spaces, they should bring water with them, wear comfortable clothing and schedule outdoor breaks as appropriate.
