Saudi Arabia Opens Security and History Dialogue 2026 in Riyadh

Security and History Dialogue 2026 was launched in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to provide a platform for an international community, comprising security officials, academics, and policy makers from around the globe, to explore Saudi Arabia’s national security path and effective strategies for securing the country for the future. The conference will take place from September 6 to 8, 2026 with the theme of “Our History and Our Future: Security and Prosperity.”

The event, which is organised by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior, is under the patronage of Saudi Arabia’s Minister for Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz. This forum will be attended by over 160 domestic and foreign speakers, more than 30 participating organisations and more than 5,000 delegates, and is expected to be a forum of great size for discussions on national transformation and development and security.

Security and History Dialogue 2026: Key Highlights

The conference focuses on nine interrelated themes related to Saudi Arabia’s development such as security, politics, economy, society, culture, national identity, institutional development, public awareness and international relations. The talks seek to link the Kingdom’s security concerns with its recent past and present, and reflect its aspirations for the future.

There are two major session tracks, namely the Dialogue Platform and the Security and History Theatre. Sessions cover topics such as getting an overview of security structures and how they have evolved from the era of Founding King Abdulaziz up to today, public safety and legal systems, technology evolution and shift, etc.

AI and Technology in Saudi Security

This is the focus on the theme of emerging technology and their applications at the Security and History Dialogue 2026 Riyadh. AI, smart systems and digital capabilities are being explored to enhance the security profession going forward and to enhance public safety.

The voices in the discussions also include International cooperation for peace, Protection of national awareness and the role of digital media in the promotion of social moderation. Themes illustrate the modern emphasis on technology and partnership to respond to new security issues.

Exploring 300 Years of Saudi Security History

An interactive “Security Path” exhibition is one of the highlights of the conference. It sketches the history of Saudi security over over three centuries and gives guests a visual experience that leads them from the old to the new in the penetration of security systems in the Kingdom.

By offering historical context to the development of security institutions in parallel to Saudi Arabia’s political, economic and social changes, the exhibition explains how the Kingdom’s security institutions gradually evolved. It also illustrates the traces of the historical basis on the present day’s national priorities.

Security and Vision 2030

As Saudi Arabia rolls out Saudi Vision 2030, which puts institutional modernization, economic diversification, and sustainable development at the heart of the Kingdom’s transformation, institutional challenges to economic development will be the focus of the dialogue.

To encourage investment, tourism and infrastructure development, as well as support international business, it is needed to have a security environment that is stable and resilient. The conference emphasizes a public safety ecosystem that incorporates security and a state’s economic opportunities, as well as the long-term impact on its overall development.
