UAE and Palau Join Efforts to Promote Renewable Energy and Protect Marine Ecosystems

UAE and Palau reaffirmed their partnership in sustainability following a meeting between the Presidents of the UAE and Palau in the UAE. During an official working visit, Palau President met the UAE President, to discuss matters related to marine protection, water security and economic development as well as renewable energy.

UAE Palau Cooperation Strengthens Climate Action

The two discussed further cooperation to tackle climate change and promote environmental resilience. They discussed with countries their common concerns, such as the transition to renewable energy, safeguarding the marine environment and protecting sensitive marine ecosystems, emphasizing how crucial it is for island countries in vulnerable environments.

UAE Palau Cooperation Supports Pacific Partnership

Collaboration through the Pacific Islands Forum which the UAE is a Strategic Partner of was also discussed. The two parties discussed possibilities for further developing climate action and sustaining development and cooperation among parties to the Pacific Ocean.

UAE Palau Cooperation Highlights 2026 UN Water Conference

The UN Water Conference in the UAE in December 2026 to be hosted by the UAE and Senegal will be one of the most important subjects. The leaders highlighted the need for coordinating actions and initiatives around globally measures to water shortages, as well as the use and management of water resources in an environmentally sustainable way, integrating water security into the international climate agenda.

UAE Palau Cooperation Expands Bilateral Relations

The meeting considered environmental issues as well as opportunities to promote trade, economic cooperation and common development goals. 

The two countries are also engaging in talks at a high level, with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Foreign Minister present.
