How UAE University Students Can Claim 1 Year of Free Google AI Plus: A Step-by-Step Guide

The UAE Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications Office, in collaboration with Google, has introduced a new initiative for the university youth in the UAE providing 1 year of free Google AI Plus for university students.

It falls under the national on-going “AI for All” partnership focusing on improving students’ availability to cutting-edge AI resources in education, research, and digital creativity. Qualified 2019 students may take advantage of the offer until December 31, 2026.

What Does the Free Google AI Plus Plan Include?

Users will be able to use the Gemini app and its new multimodal AI features for a full year. Students can leverage the AI tools in research, problem-solving, writing and for other academic activities.

Further, the plan encompasses a possible project of Gemini Notebook to upload lecture notes to students, textbooks and research papers. The generated materials can be used for creating customized study guides and self-assessment quizzes and interactive audio summaries.

Students will also get additional AI capabilities for producing images and video for creative projects and presentations. Furthermore, there’s 400GB worth of cloud storage on Google Drive, Gmail and Google Photos.

Step 1: Visit the Official Registration Portal

Students are advised to first visit the Google AI student registration page. The offer will only be open to UAE university students (18 years of age and above) who qualify for it.
Based on the guidance given, students are expected to sign up for an offer with their own Google account, not a school administrator account.

Step 2: Verify Your University Enrollment

Students will have to be verified in SheerID for their eligibility. Users or applicants can fill the verification process by using a valid email address of their respective University in UAE or the respective enrollment credentials.

Students are advised to make sure that the information they have provided for verification is in line with their University status to prevent any issues with activation.

Step 3: Add a Qualifying Payment Method

The promotion is for all users who choose to subscribe to Google One by adding a payment method that meets the requirements. As outlined below, during the 12-month promotional period students are not subject to a charge.

Before being activated, students are urged to read carefully the terms of the subscription which are available, in particular, after the end of the promotional period.

Step 4: Activate Google AI Plus Before the Deadline

Once verified and registered, eligible students will be able to get Google AI Plus and access the features of Gemini and cloud storage provided by it.

To benefit from this promotion, one must be completed by December 31, 2026. It also encompasses hands-on training in responsible AI usage, prompt engineering, and digital safety.
