ICC Annual Conference Will be Hosted by Singapore

The International Cricket Council chose Singapore as its annual conference venue which they plan to start on the third week of July. The meetings in Zimbabwe marked the end of a decision that made Singapore the first meeting location under the new Chairman, Jay Shah.
Singapore, as the constituency of ICC Deputy Chair Imran Khwaja, will be the platform to evaluate team changes suggested by Sourav Ganguly’s Cricket Committee.

Cricket Committee Proposals Under Consideration
The ICC is expected to form a Working Group to examine significant recommendations including:
- Using a single ball from the 25th over onwards in ODIs to reintroduce reverse swing
- Implementing in-game clocks for Test cricket to ensure completion of 90 overs daily
- Introducing a 60-second time limit between overs in Test matches
- Converting the Under-19 men’s World Cup to T20 format, matching the women’s tournament

Officials began to discuss both ICC governance changes and WCA plans for improving ICC funding methods. The Chief Executives believe that WCA does not have enough power to force changes on the ICC since it speaks only for a small part of cricket.The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) stands as the top cricket authority in India and has refused to validate World Cricket Association status. Although individual boards in the WCA network still connect with their member players they will not officially support the organization’s proposals as a group.
