The UAE has dispatched its 18th aircraft as part of a relief campaign for Lebanon, transporting 40 tonnes of medical supplies. This comes as part of the implementation of the directives of HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, President of the UAE.
The UAE is continuing its relief airbridge – activated in early October 2024 to transport urgent essential food, medical and shelter supplies to the people of Lebanon in order to help them adequately address the hardships triggered by the ongoing conflict.
UAE committed to supporting brotherly Lebanese people
HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, and HH Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed, Chairman of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, have been meticulously monitoring the Lebanon campaign.
The UAE leadership and people are thoroughly committed to supporting the brotherly Lebanese people in recovery. The Gulf state has been helping the Lebanese people achieve security and stability, and bringing them basic materials such as medicines.
Since its establishment by the Founding Father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan, the UAE has been committed to offering assistance, particularly in times of need. The Emirati leadership believes in helping people in critical times, irrespective of their identity or location.
Federal decree issued to establish the UAE aid agency
Under the leadership of HH Sheikh Mohamed, the UAE has become a global leader in supporting those impacted by conflicts, disasters and crises, said Sultan Mohammed al-Shamsi, assistant minister of Foreign affairs for development affairs and international organisations.

The UAE President has issued a federal decree to establish the UAE aid agency. It represents a continuation of the humanitarian legacy laid by the Founding Father. Since its establishment, the UAE has contributed more than $98 billion in foreign assistance.
