Oman Purple Saturday 2026: Complete List of Stores Offering Discounts for Persons with Disabilities

The country is on board with the nationwide Purple Saturday 2026 campaign with the theme “One Day, A Lasting Impact.” The initiative will take place from July 23 to August 1, 2026, and its goal is to encourage the shopping behavior of people with disabilities by giving them specific discounts and making it easier for them to shop. 

The campaign, which has been organized by the Ministry of Social Development in collaboration with the ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, is aimed at making it easier for all companies in the Sultanate to shop.

How to Claim Purple Saturday Discounts?

The digital system from the Ministry of Social Development makes it easier to apply for benefits from Purple Saturday. All who qualify can login, download or activate their Purple Saturday Digital Card and then present it on their smart phone at participating retail locations.

The digital card enables discounts to be applied at the checkout instantly without having to take physical documents with.

Participating Stores and Discount Categories

In 2026, a variety of companies are taking part, including a number of key retailers, healthcare providers, telecoms, hospitality and the dining industry. Shoppers will be able to easily recognise participating outlets with the official Purple Saturday logo. The Ministry remains keen to receive more companies to join the campaign, thereby expanding its outreach across Oman.

Hypermarkets and Grocery Stores

The major supermarket and hypermarket chains in special discounted cities such as Muscat, Salalah and Sohar are offering special discounts on selected products. They’ll save money on groceries, electronics, household goods and clothes. Lockers are also becoming a common sight in many retail stores as they strive to accommodate the needs of their customers with mobility issues by offering something specific for them.

Healthcare, Telecommunications, and Hospitality

Retailers such as healthcare providers, pharmacies, and optical centers are providing certain medical consultations at reduced costs, mobility equipment, prescription glasses, and wellness items are discounted. 

In the telecommunications sector, digital inclusion is being promoted by lowering service rates and providing customer support that is accessible and promotes inclusion. Hotels, restaurants and cafes are also jumping on the bandwagon, offering guests reduced rates on their rooms, restaura

The idea behind Purple Saturday is not to sell short-term, but it is a long term solution to improve accessibility. Retailers are asked to upgrade their physical and digital buildings by adding expansive aisles, easy access fitting rooms, parking facilities and employees trained to handle customer service. These enhancements help to fulfil Oman’s overall ambition to create a more inclusive society for all.
