UAE boosts support for Palestinians in Gaza as operation ‘Chivalrous Knight 3’ continues

The UAE is one of the first countries to start providing humanitarian assistance to Gazans as the brutal Israel-Hamas fighting erupted on October 7. The Gulf state is striving to assist as many displaced individuals as possible in the besieged enclave.
Treating Palestinians in UAE hospitals
In the earlier part of the conflict, UAE President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed issued directives to provide medical treatment for 1,000 injured children and 1,000 cancer patients from the Gaza Strip at several hospitals in the GCC nation.
The 18th group of injured Palestinian children and cancer patients and those accompanying them arrived in the UAE on July 5. The initiative highlights the Gulf state’s commitment to providing all forms of medical care to Palestinians to alleviate their suffering.
The UAE has also been operating a field hospital in Gaza, treating scores of injured people and performing life-saving surgeries. In addition, the country has established desalination plants and bakeries as thousands of people are on the verge of experiencing famine.
UAE aid to Gaza amid shortage of basic necessities
Humanitarian initiative ‘Chivalrous Knight 3‘ supports the Emirates’ commitment to assisting displaced Palestinians. The operation has been distributed essential food supplies to families affected by conflict, scarcity of aid and a shortage of basic necessities.
The initiative recently provided a range of essential food items, including chicken, bread, dates, fresh vegetables and comprehensive food parcels to support needy displaced families in Khan Younis. It reached 9,000 beneficiaries.
The relief campaign seeks to mitigate the catastrophic situation resulting from the cessation of humanitarian aid as it has heightened the risk of a broad famine impacting the entire population of the Gaza Strip, according to estimates from international relief organisations.
