UAE Announces Holidays for 2025
The UAE government has shared the list of holidays for 2025. These holidays are for both government workers and people working in private companies.
New Year’s Day and Islamic New Year
– January 1, 2025 will be a holiday for New Year’s Day
– Islamic New Year (Muharram 1) will also be a holiday, but the exact date is not set yet
Eid Holidays
– There will be a long weekend for Eid Al-Fitr (Shawaal 1-3)
– If Ramadan lasts 30 days, there will be one more day off
– For Eid Al-Adha, there will be three days off (Dhu Al Hijjah 10-12)
Other Religious and National Holidays
– Arafat Day (Dhu Al Hijjah 9) will be a day off
– The Prophet Muhammad’s birthday (Rabi Al Awwal 12) will be a holiday
– December 2 and 3 will be holidays for Commemoration Day and UAE National Day
Possible Changes to Holiday Dates
The government has expressed that they could alter some of the holiday’s dates. They may shift holidays mainly to work days such as Monday or Tuesday, not the Eid holidays. It is to have more prolonged weekends that shall be tangibly observed with more enjoyable days off and work hours during the weekly plans.
As for the official holidays, the UAE government claims that local areas can introduce more of them if necessary. These are the additional ones and they are not included in the given list.
Should you be considering plans and organizing vacations or time off, bear the following dates in mind. Bear in mind that some of the Islamic holidays may vary from one place to another in some extent in response to the moon sighting.
