UAE-born actor Taha Shah Badussha played the role of Tajdar Baloch in famed director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’. He is being applauded for his heart-touching performance. Taha’s journey to success is quite interesting and inspiring.
Early Life
Taha was born in the city of Abu Dhabi in the UAE. His father, Shah Sikkander Badusha, is a doctor who studied in Scotland. His mother, Mahnaz Sikkander Badusha, was earlier a biochemist and later became an entrepreneur after studying in Washington D.C., USA. Taha has an elder brother named Abid who is a Civil Engineer educated in Canada.
Education
Taha’s early schooling was at Sherwood Academy in Abu Dhabi. He then studied for three years at Kodaikanal International School in Tamil Nadu, India. After that, his family moved to Sharjah where he attended the International School of Choueifat and Sharjah American International School to complete his schooling.
Acting Beginnings
Taha’s acting journey began with the Hindi comedy-drama movie ‘Luv Ka The End’ by Y-Films in 2011. He starred alongside popular actress Shraddha Kapoor in this film inspired by American movies. In 2013, he appeared in the movie ‘Gippi’ by Dharma Productions and received a lot of praise for his great performance.
Bollywood Roles
Though some of Taha’s subsequent Bollywood movies like ‘Barkhaa’ and ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ did not do very well, he kept getting opportunities. His recent starring role as Tajdar Baloch in the web series ‘Heeramandi’ has brought him a lot of acclaim despite some controversy around the show’s casting.
Hollywood Entry
In 2020, Taha made his Hollywood debut with the movie ‘Draupadi Unleashed’ where he played the character of Gautam. This opened up new avenues for him in the global entertainment industry.
Web Series
Apart from movies, Taha has also worked in popular web series like ‘Bullets’ (earlier titled ‘Tina and Lolo’) and ‘Bekaboo 2’ – both produced by Ekta Kapoor and ALTBalaji.

Taha is a multi-talented artist – he has singing abilities too! In 2022, he made his singing debut with the single ‘Vande Mataram.’
