Step-by-Step Guide to Use the DFM App to Buy the UAE’s Government-Backed and Safest T-Sukuk Programme
The Emirates Stock Exchange sovereign bonds retail Programme is the first sovereign bonds initiative in the UAE that offers an avenue of investment for individual UAE residents and citizens. The retail investors will now be directly able to purchase the government-backed Islamic investment certificates, which were previously wielded mainly by institutional investors.
These Sukuk have received governmental backing from the UAE Federal Government and are thus regarded as one of the most secure investment options in UAE. They are consistently predictable with the expectation of a profit payment twice per year and with a very low risk if they default, offering attractive profits for conservative investors or for families with stable income requirements.
Key Features of the UAE Retail T-Sukuk Programme
The inaugural subscription window opens from June 24, 2026 (8:00 AM) and closes on June 30, 2026 (5:00 PM). The minimum and the maximum investment amounts are AED 1,000 and AED 2 million respectively per individual investor.
The Sukuk is of fixed duration of 2 years and will be issued on the 20th of the following month each year, starting from 2027 in exchange of receiving the profit in the amount of about (4,16%) per annum which is distributed by making twice a year profit payment. The offering will be available solely to individual investors, in the UAE’s “Year of Family” campaign, and will not be offered during the primary subscription time to corporate organizations.
Why Is This Investment Considered One of the Safest in the UAE?
Sovereign T-Sukuk are a direct binding obligation of the UAE Government as opposed to many of the market linked investments which experience wide price fluctuations. This form of government support lowers the risk of the investments and offers an income stream that will be available during the investment period.
The Retail T-Sukuk Programme provides a secure and liquid investment option with a moderate risk profile and definite returns to investors who are not willing to deal with the uncertainty of equity markets or cryptocurrencies.
Step-by-Step Guide to Invest in T-Sukuk
Step 1: Register for a DFM National Investor Number (NIN)
Every investor will need a valid Dubai Financial Market (DFM) National Investor Number (NIN) prior to subscribing. This code is used to identify the security and enable investors to buy, hold and sell listed securities in UAE’s financial markets.
It is possible for applicants to use Emirates ID biometric verification to create their NIN digitally via the official DFM App and iVestor App. The whole registration process is paperless, and can usually be done in minutes, without having to visit the financial institution.
Step 2: Access the Subscription Portal
After the subscription window has officially begun, investors can log in to their DFM App and/or iVestor App, and proceed to the Retail T-Sukuk subscription section.
Bank subscribers can also sign up via the participating receiving banks, such as Emirates NBD Bank, Emirates Islamic Bank, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), Ajman Bank and Mashreq Bank. The programme is a multi-channel mechanism, targeting a wide base of retail investors across the UAE.
Step 3: Choose Your Investment Amount
Within the subscription portal, investors just select an investment amount of their choice. The minimum subscription is AED 1,000 and investments need to be in whole multiples of AED 1,000.
After choosing the amount, it’s securely paid via the integrated bank account. When allotments are made the amount of the subscribers’ money in excess of the amount that is allotted will be returned to the investors automatically.
What Happens After Your Investment Is Confirmed?
After the allocation process, the investors will receive certificates of the UAE Government Retail T-Sukuk to hold for two years.
There will be four regular profit distributions on the investment per six months, and they will be credited into the investors’ registered banks directly. The payments are made on a regular basis and represent a continuous stream of passive income – no matter when the money’s invested.
Can You Sell Your T-Sukuk Before Maturity?
The greatest benefit of the programme is its inbuilt liquidity. These Retail T-Sukuk will be trading on Nasdaq Dubai and do not come with early redemption fees like some fixed deposit institutions.
With this they can be able to sell through licensed brokers at any given time they might need some liquidity. The retiring price will vary based on market conditions and will provide investors more flexibility than having to wait until the maturity day in 2028.
Who Should Consider Investing?
This Retail T-Sukuk Programme is well suited for those investors who are conservative with their investments and accessible to certain fixed returns over risky growth possibilities.
It is suitable for any family that is planning to invest for the long term, investors diversifying portfolios, people who are new to investing looking to invest in an instrument backed by the State Government, and those who would like an Islamic investment product that can be used to earn income as well as to be secure.
