‘Gallant Knight 3’ humanitarian operation in Gaza exemplies UAE’s commitment to helping all in need

Back in 2023, UAE President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed ordered the Joint Operations Command of the Ministry of Defence to initiate ‘Gallant Knight 3’ – a comprehensive humanitarian operation to support Palestinian people in Gaza.
The operation has been continuing for 12 months already, highlighting the UAE leadership and people’s commitment to bringing relief to those in need. The brutal Israel-Hamas conflict has triggered an intense catastrophe in the territory, claiming many lives each day.
The UAE is one of the first countries to respond to the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. Providing urgent relief to affected families and support to Gaza’s infrastructure, Operation ‘Gallant Knight 3‘ is one of the largest relief operations in the sector.
UAE’s ‘Gallant Knight 3′ addressing Gazans’ sufferings
There have been a number of instances of the comprehensive humanitarian operation launched by the UAE helping out Palestinians in need. The Gulf state has established a field hospital in Gaza and has been treating injured Gazans in hospitals across the UAE, too.
1. UAE Field Hospital in Gaza
In a strategic move, the UAE leadership established a field hospital in Gaza in 2023. It is still operating despite the ongoing military operation. The facility includes multiple departments and specialised clinics, and has already treated more than 48,700 injured people.
2. UAE floating hospital in Gaza
The UAE sent a floating hospital to neighbouring Egypt, after making it capable of receiving the injured Palestinians and offering them healthcare and performing special surgeries. Since its activation, the facility has already treated 5,040 cases.
3. Treating Gazans at UAE hospitals
The UAE recently evacuated 86 critically injured patients from Gaza, including children and cancer patients in need of extensive treatment, accompanied by 124 of their family members. The flight represented the UAE’s 22nd evacuation.
4. Prosthetic Limb Centre at UAE field hospital
Back in February 2024, the Prosthetic Limb Centre opened at the UAE Field Hospital in Gaza, as part of operation ‘Gallant Knight 3’. The facility has a comprehensive set of the latest medical devices to rehabilitate patients and enable to lead normal lives.
5. Operation Birds of Goodness
The Joint Operations Command of the Ministry of Defence has launched the ‘Birds of Goodness’ humanitarian operation for Palestinians. The project seeks to drop relief supplies on isolated areas that are not reached by aid in the Gaza Strip.
