The Bahrain International Music Festival, currently in its 32-day program, is bringing together a diverse range of music styles, including Asian, Arabic, and classical music, while also showcasing Bahraini “art sound.”
The festival’s opening night featured the Bahrain Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Maestro Mubarak Najm, performing excerpts from renowned Austrian classics under the theme “Night in Vienna.”
The festival’s schedule includes a concert titled “Chinese Chinese Music” on October 11, featuring various traditional Chinese instruments and Chinese music. Another concert by German jazz music groups is set for October 17.
On October 19, the festival will highlight traditional Indian music, popular songs, and royal music with the participation of artists like Samir Sheffjar, Shahar Dixit from India’s West Bengal.
The festival culminates on October 20 at the Bahrain National Theater with the “Night of the Art of Sound,” led by the Bahraini music group under the guidance of Maestro Ziad Ziman, featuring artist Ahmed Al-Jameiri.
The “art of sound” represents contemporary music significantly related to Bahrain’s musical development, characterized by strong vocal performances and a blend of past and present musical styles. It also includes dance forms like “al-quffa” and “asqfah.”
