Zain Bahrain Teams with Ericsson to Boost 4G and 5G Coverage
Zain Bahrain and Ericsson have entered a strategic partnership to develop 4G and 5G networks across Bahrain through a new agreement that also extends their management services for three more years. The partnership helps Zain Bahrain run better networks while providing better service to all of its customers nationwide.
Under this agreement, Ericsson will introduce their energy-saving Radio Access Network products consisting of the AIR 3229 Massive MIMO radio and the Radio 4466 RAN equipment. The new network technology will make networks stronger and bigger plus use 20% less energy to help Zain Bahrain achieve its sustainable targets. This network upgrade belongs to Zain Bahrain’s strategic partnership project with Ericsson to accelerate Bahrain’s digital transformation plans.
Through the Managed Services extension, Ericsson will use data practices to make systems more efficient and rapidly launch new services while improving service performance. Through their contract Zain Bahrain and Ericsson will update their core network by deploying Ericsson’s cloud-native Evolved Packet Core solution as part of their two-mode 5G Core system.
Through this modernization, Zain Bahrain will expand its data network capabilities to better serve Bahrain’s digital economy customers.
