Al-Hilal FC will play all home games at its premier stadium Boulevard Hall which has been renamed as “Kingdom Arena” in a SAR 40 million a year agreement. Turki Al-Sheikh, chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, and Fahad Bin Nafel, chairman of Al-Hilal Club Company, hailed this as a landmark agreement.
The stadium, under construction in Riyadh, is set to have a capacity of 26,000 seats and a special cabin with a capacity of hosting 350 people. It will meet all the requirements of the Saudi Pro League, FIFA and AFC. The stadium will be handed over to the Al-Hilal club in January 2024, in time for the Riyadh Season Cup.
Kingdom Arena will also host entertainment events.
Kingdom Arena Will Feature Festivals and Exhibitions
Al-Hilal in an official statement said Boulevard Hall, now Kingdom Arena, is considered one of the best outstanding sports destinations that have been announced within the forthcoming surprises of Riyadh Season under the slogan “Big Time”.
The stadium will accommodate around 26,000 spectators and utilize the latest technologies to provide a unique fan experience. Al-Hilal Club said construction work for Kingdom Arena will end at the beginning of 2024. The stadium is strategically located in Riyadh, making it an ideal venue for hosting events.
Kingdom Arena will feature exhibitions like Ana Arabiya, Riyadh Toy Festival, Dogs Festival, Riyadh Car Show, the ConCon Conference, and the Riyadh Season Football Cup, which will bring football clubs like Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr under one roof.
Al-Hilal to Boost Saudi Tourism
Bin Nafel said Al-Hilal Club is also creating packages for foreign tourists whereby they can spend two days in Riyadh and visit entertainment hubs and sporting events. Saudi Tourism has major ambitions and plans with the countries football clubs, including Al-Hilal which was taken over by the kingdom’s sovereign Public Investment Fund (PIF).

This will boost Saudi Arabia’s revenue. Furthermore, the country is vying to host the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, as well as the 2030 FIFA men’s World Cup alongside Greece and Egypt.
Furthermore, the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman made it clear in a recentinterview that he doesn’t care about the term sportswashing. “If sportswashing is going to increase my GDP by one percent, then I will continue doing sportswashing.”
