UAE Rescue Experts Join Nepal Flood Search as Humanitarian Aid Drive Continues

Search and rescue experts from the UAE have been deployed in Nepal in conjunction with the national authorities to boost the country’s search and rescue capabilities following monsoon floods and landslides.

It brings together urban Search and Rescue teams, medical response teams and emergency response kits for the affected communities, under the leadership of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) and supported by humanitarian relief agencies in the UAE.

UAE forces are making specific missions in areas where landslides are extreme and people are in trouble. These tools range from heavy rescue vehicles, life-detection sensors, to search aircraft drones that aid in their search and rescue operations.

Along with this deployment of thermal search drones and skills in disaster medical response are employed as part of a broader emergency response, aiding authorities to coordinate rescue and medical assistance in the continued crisis.

UAE Airbridge Delivers Critical Relief

The UAE has also set up an emergency airbridge to airlift humanitarian aid to Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu in addition to the rescue operations.

Food, clean-drinking-water-purification equipment, first-aid kits, medicines for waterborne diseases, winterized bedding and emergency tent shelters are among the relief goods shipped along. The supplies are designed to be quickly delivered to the flooded and landslide impacted communities.
