Weekend Movie Guide: Top Christopher Nolan & Anne Hathaway Films to Watch in GCC Theaters

Christopher Nolan and Anne Hathaway have produced some of the most iconic, major scenes in modern movies. The duo have again reunited in The Odyssey and GCC moviegoers will have another chance to see them on a big screen in the region.

The overwhelming settings, sound design and special effects of Nolan’s films are especially well-suited to IMAX and other large-format theaters for audiences in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain or Oman, where they can be enjoyed at their best.

1. The Odyssey

The Odyssey is an adaptation of the epic poem of Homer, about Odysseus’ long journey home from the Trojan War, directed by Christopher Nolan. The film stars Matt Damon as Odysseus and Anne Hathaway as Penelope, who is increasingly being courted by suitors in her husband’s absence.

The large size of the film lends itself neatly to the format of high-end movies. The IMAX photography, the creative production design, the vast scenes and the music by Ludwig Göransson are all crafted to produce the theatrical feel.

2. Interstellar

Interstellar is one of Nolan’s most successful movies, shattering records in 2014. The science fiction epic tells the tale of space explorers that travel through a wormhole to find a new place in the universe for humankind as environmental destruction on earth is posing a problem.

Hathaway stars as Dr. Amelia Brand, a scientist and astronaut whose destiny dovetails with the fate of the human race. Her showmanship provides the film with emotional depth in the context of its grand subject space, time and family.

The film has also enjoyed various special screenings and re-releases to theatres, and will be available at the excellent special IMAX screenings when it’s back on the GCC 3D screens.

3. The Dark Knight Rises

The first time Hathaway worked with Nolan was as Selina Kyle aka Cat Woman in The Dark Knight Rises. Her rendition was both physical and funny and inherently ambiguous in both moral and ethical respect and she had her own interesting balancing act with the Bat-Man (Christian Bale).

Why Watch Nolan on the Big Screen?
