Dubai’s Reopened Monorail Line: How to Take the Tram and Monorail Straight to Atlantis Aquaventure
Dubai’s iconic Palm Monorail kicked off its six-month maintenance break, bringing one of the city’s most picturesque public transport lines back to its tracks. Earlier this week, the public was welcomed back to visit the more important attractions of Palm Jumeirah by the starting of the service, which puts the island back in direct connection with its visitors and residents just before one of the most tourist-friendly times of the year.
The monorail line will be used to link the 5.5 km-long trunks that descend from the mainland to Atlantis Aquaventure and run along the Palm Jumeirah. The line reopened and is one of the easiest options to explore Palm Jumeirah, whether you’re heading out on a family day out, heading to the beach or shopping.
Why the Palm Monorail Reopening Matters?
In January 2026, the Palm Monorail ceased to operate and was closed for a lengthy maintenance and rehabilitative project. All services have now been restored and those who desire uninterrupted connectivity between Palm Gateway and Atlantis Aquaventure are in luck for now.
The reopening also helps lessen private motorist and taxi usage, thus easing traffic accidents that are often common on Palm Jumeirah main trunk road, particularly on weekends and holidays.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Take the Dubai Tram to Palm Gateway
The Dubai Tram is the first stop, connecting to various key residential and commercial districts, such as Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) and Dubai Media City.
Evacuees must go to the Palm gateway area where the Palm monorail station is located at the convenient spot.
Step 2: Board the Palm Monorail
At Palm Gateway Station, buy a ticket online or at the station’s ticket booth before getting on the monorail.
The train runs regularly and has a short journey time of 15 minutes a day. It will take about nine minutes to arrive at Atlantis Aquaventure, and give you fantastic panoramic views of Palm Jumeirah, the Arabian Gulf, Dubai Marina and the city’s skyscrapers.
Palm Monorail Stations
Four stations are currently existing on the Palm Monorail line, offering each a different location on Palm Jumeirah. Palm Gateway is the gateway linked with the Dubai Tram network.
Located right beside Golden Mile Galleria, residential zones and one of Palm Jumeirah’s biggest public parks are at your fingertips at Al Ittihad Park Station.
Nakheel Mall Station provides convenient transport opportunities for guests traveling to Nakheel Mall, restaurants, entertainment and hotels in the area.
The final stop is Atlantis Aquaventure Station, which directly leads to Atlantis The Palm, Atlantis Aquaventure Waterpark and other beachfront attractions.
Palm Monorail Timings
The Palm Monorail is open every day, running regularly on the weekends. The first train departs Palm Gateway at 9.00am and the last train is the 9.45pm.
The schedules from Atlantis Aquaventure start at 9:15AM and end at 10:00PM. The trains run on a 15-minute schedule, so you won’t have to wait long for a train to arrive.
Palm Monorail Ticket Prices
The Palm Monorail route has been cheaper in ticket prices for both locals and tourists. A Single Journey Ticket starts from AED 10 per passenger. A flight booked with a Round Trip Ticket will be charged AED 15.
For those that want to visit more than one stop in Palm Jumeirah, there are also Family Passes and Unlimited Day Passes available.
Why Choose the Monorail Instead of Driving?
During weekends or holidays, it’s not uncommon to experience congestion along the route to Atlantis Aquaventure. The Palm Monorail alleviates these concerns with two fast tracks to the resort: an elevated rail line that is dedicated to the transport of people and their property.
Apart from the time-saving experience, the ride is more enjoyable too due to uninterrupted views of Palm Jumeirah, luxury hotels, yachts and the Dubai coastline.
Perfect for Tourists and Families
The Palm Monorail is particularly helpful for families visiting Atlantis Aquaventure, allowing them to do so comfortably without having to struggle through unfamiliar roads. It also has an immediate benefit for tourists who stay at the Dubai Marina, JBR or Media City, with the ability to easily use both systems.
Accessible by the lowest priced fare, the journey takes a mere ten minutes and it offers a comfortable ride. It is one of the easiest options to explore one of Dubai’s most famous landmarks.
