The Bahrain Tourism Authority (BTA) is gearing up for one of the country’s busiest tourism seasons ever, as it launches a new initiative called “GCC Family Season” in May and June 2026. It includes big international concerts, free entry cultural events and entertainment for the whole of the Kingdom for children and young people.
The new season promises to draw residents and visitors alike from the GCC area, offering enjoyable entertainment at affordable prices, ranging from live entertainment in Manama to whimsy on the beaches of Zallaq.
Doja Cat Headlines Bahrain’s Biggest Concert Event
But one of the highlights of the season is Doja Cat coming into town May 16 at Beyond Al Dana Amphitheatre.
The show already has a tremendous amount of excitement among the masses in the Gulf region, as fans from Saudi Arabia, UAE and Kuwait are planning to head to Bahrain for the concert. The amphitheatre has quickly become one of the region’s top entertainment venues for international acts.
Free Community Events Are Expanding Across Bahrain
In addition to concerts, Bahrain in the summer is a big emphasis on free family and visitor cultural experiences.
But, the widespread festival “Manama Nights” in Bahrain National Theatre still continues to draw the crowds and offers live shows, outdoor cafés and artwork. Admission is free and one of the most convenient events this season.
In Muharraq, tourists can also enjoy the follicular celebrations along the UNESCO-listed Pearling Path, which is witnessing storytelling tours and traditional Bahraini music Jumemas throughout May and June.
Bahrain’s New Attractions Are Driving Summer Tourism
In addition several new attractions will be implemented in the Kingdom for the purpose of enhancing the tourism traffic during the summer season.
The new Bahrain Surf Park is one of the best spots on the season for both novice and masters surfers with artificial waves that are good for surfing.
In the meantime, Bahrain’s new project to build up an indoor ski academy is capturing the spotlight, as the Kingdom continues to strive to provide families and young athletes with indoor entertainment opportunities around the year.
Street Performances and Family Activities Add to the Atmosphere
International entertainer, Victor Rubilar is also hosting pop up shows at shopping and lifestyle venues like The Avenues Bahrain and Marassi Galleria.
The events are contributing to festival ambiance throughout Bahrain as well as providing more family-friendly summer entertainment.
