As Gaza endures escalating humanitarian hardship, from acute water scarcity to overwhelmed medical systems, the United Arab Emirates has intensified its response under the comprehensive Operation Gallant Knight 3.
Launched in November 2023 by presidential directive, this mission encompasses multi-layered interventions across emergency relief, health, water security, and infrastructure rebuilding.
Under Gallant Knight 3, the UAE is constructing a standalone 315 mm desalination pipeline from Egypt to southern Gaza, as well as operating multiple desalination plants and rehabilitating wells, providing 15 liters of potable water per person per day to some 600,000 residents.
Simultaneously, the mission has deployed an advanced 200-bed integrated field hospital in Rafah, a floating hospital off Arish, and conducted mass medical evacuations. These measures reflect across-the-board solidarity, from providing food and shelter to delivering critical healthcare and water solutions, affirming a holistic, sustainable approach to alleviating suffering in Gaza.
Constructed a 6.7 km desalination pipeline from Egypt to Gaza’s Rafah and Khan Younis areas, delivering 15 liters of clean water daily per person to over 600,000 individuals.
Established six desalination plants providing up to 1.2 million gallons of water per day, and rehabilitated central wells and wastewater systems for long-term supply resilience.
2. Medical Support & Evacuations
Deployed a 200-bed integrated field hospital in southern Gaza with surgery units, ICUs, labs, CT scans, and prosthetics support, treating thousands.
Operated a floating hospital off the coast of Arish, offering emergency surgeries and telemedicine capabilities.
Facilitated medical evacuations, bringing critically ill individuals, such as children and cancer patients, for specialized care outside Gaza.
3. Nutrition, Shelter & Logistics
Delivered over 30,000 tonnes of vital supplies, including food, flour, and medical aid, through coordinated convoys, air, and sea channels supporting over 1.3 million Palestinians.
Provided field bakeries, tens of thousands of cooked meals, over 13,000 tents, and essential household goods to displaced families.
Set up warehouses and logistical bases at Al Arish to streamline delivery into Gaza’s most needy zones.
