Qatar took home the gold and silver medals in the boys’ doubles event at the 24th Asian Youth Bowling Championship, hosted at the Qatar Bowling Center.
The gold was won by Talal Al Marri and Musaad Al Muraikhi with a total of 2,690 points. The silver medal went to Hassan Al Muraikhi and Abdulrahman Al Dosari for their score of 2,669 points, only 21 points behind the gold medal winners. The medals were presented to the winners by Bandar Mubarak Al Shafi, the Secretary General of the Qatar Bowling Federation (QBF) and a member of the Asian Bowling Federation, while QBF Board Member Saeed Al Hajri presented the medals to the winners in the girls’ event.

Al Shafi added that the athletes are now eager to win more medals, and that the boys’ efforts should earn them a lot of respect and consideration moving forward.
Al Marri spoke about his feelings after the doubles result, and noted that it was a good comeback for him and his team-mate after a rough individual round. Al Muraikhi, after celebrating his first Asian Championship gold medal, called it a personal achievement and a major milestone for him.
Both players thanked the crowd for their support and highlighted that the fans ensured they maintained their focus. They believe that capturing a gold and silver in a major event such as this will motivate them to perform even better in upcoming team events.
The competition goes on with their four player team events for both boys and girls categories, with Team Qatar looking for podium finishes too.
