Qatar will be in group A of the upcoming U-20 Gulf Cup, where they will face competition from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Yemen. The tournament draw took place in Doha on July 28, 2025.
The eight-nation youth football tournament, which is run by the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF), will take place between August 28 to September 9 in Abha, Saudi Arabia. This tournament is the first U-20 Gulf Cup of its kind, as it aims to develop young football talent across the region.
Egypt is in for UAE
Egypt has replaced the UAE in group B, which will compete against Oman, Iraq, and Bahrain. As Egypt’s youth team prepares for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile from September 27 to October 19, this tournament will provide vital preparation ahead of the World Cup.
The AGCFF hopes that this new tournament will positively help youth development, raise standards in the region, and prepare the next generation of professional players.
