Qatar Museums Launches its First AI-Powered Art Tour Experience

Qatar Museums is launching a new experience, the AI Art Tour, a unique and personalised, AI-powered adventure that leverages new technologies to allow visitors to explore the eyes of Qatar’s culture through a smarter and more interactive lens. The AI Art Tour was initiated by Qatar Museums in partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to meet the goals outlined in Qatar’s Digital Agenda 2030 through art and museums. The AI Art Tour is meant to foster accessibility, inclusivity, and engagement across Qatar’s art and museum ecosystem.

During the experience, visitors start with a chat between themselves and an AI Art Specialist, who will act as a guide for the entire trip to the sites. The AI Art Specialist will take inputs about the user’s interests and preferences, and based on that, the AI will curate a route with museums, public art, and heritage sites that match the visitor’s profile. The AI Art Specialist will provide real-time information about sites and provide answers to questions, as well as directions, transforming the visitor’s journey from a museum tour to a digital experience. As stated by CEO Mohammed Al Rumaihi for Qatar Museums, combining tradition and innovation enables users to connect to culture at a deeper level and to personalised stories.

Kicking off Qatar Museums’ 20th anniversary, the AI Art Tour is also part of Evolution Nation, a national celebration culminating 5 decades of creative evolution in Qatar. It puts Qatar at the forefront of cultural and technological change in the region.
