SpaceX and Space42 Make History with the Launch of Thuraya-4 Satellite

SpaceX successfully launched the Thuraya-4 satellite for Space42 on January 3rd, 2025. SpaceX is a leading space technology company. Thuraya is United Arab Emirates based regional mobile-satellite service (MSS) provider. 

This launch of Thuraya-4 took place at 8:27 pm ET from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The Falcon 9 rocket takes off and successfully placed the satellite in geostationary transfer orbit.

This mission is 341st successful rocket landing by SpaceX. This is highlighting the impressive record of reusable rocket technology.

Know About the UAE’s communication satellite Thuraya-4:

Thuraya-4 is a modern satellite designed to boost mobile voice and data services. It has a large 12-meter L-band antenna and is built on the Airbus Eurostar Neo platform. This electric satellite will provide strong mobile connectivity in Europe, Africa, Central Asia, and the Middle East.

In 2020, UAE-based Yahsat ordered Thuraya-4. Recently, Yahsat joined with Bayanat, an AI-focused company, to create Space42. Thuraya-4 will take over from two older satellites made by Boeing.
