In the 45th GCC Summit on December 1, leaders and representatives of the six Gulf Cooperation Council countries praised the increasing role of the bloc in addressing political and economic challenges, both regionally and globally.
They commended their contributions to ensuring peace, security and stability – besides affirming their strong support for the Palestinian cause, emphasising the importance of the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
The leaders called for further efforts to strengthen the region’s global position as a hub for business and economy, promote sustainable economic diversification, ensure digital transformation, stabilise energy markets and address climate change.

The declaration issued at the end of the Summit on Sunday highlighted the increasing role of GCC countries in addressing political and economic challenges across the globe. It noted ongoing efforts to mediate a ceasefire in Gaza.
Regarding Lebanon, the GCC leaders condemned Israeli aggression and the possibility of the conflict escalating into a broader regional crisis. They supported the temporary ceasefire in Lebanon and called for a political solution to the country’s internal divisions.
During the Summit, the leaders also highlighted the importance of enhanced cooperation to develop joint digital strategies, facilitate e-commerce, improve digital payment systems and strengthen cybersecurity.
