Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan seen at Emaar event in Dubai

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan attended an event at the Armani Hotel in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on June 13. 

He attended the unveiling of Dubai’s “newest luxury waterside haven” project by Mohamed Alabbar’s Emaar. The project called ‘Oasis Emaar’ was unveiled at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13. SRK was the chief guest at the event.

The Bollywood icon reportedly said, “I want to tell you why I am here. First of all, I want to thank all of you because if you are Mohamed’s friends, his business partners, or his colleagues working with him, I think it is very important for me to thank you all.”

SRK revealed that Mohamed Alabbar is his old friend. Mohamed Alabbar, the founder of Emaar Properties as well as the developer of the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Mall, and SRK became friends 20 years ago. During the event, SRK revealed that Mohamed Alabbar “took me to what we call a ‘chaiwala shop’ (tea stall), outside of the city, with small benches. In India, we call it a ‘dhaba’ and he [Mohamed Alabbar] said ‘this is my office’ and I was like ‘oh, so he is not the guy who is building the Burj.” Mohamed Alabbar played an important role in building the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, and the Dubai Mall, one of the biggest shopping malls in the world. 

Fans also gathered at the event to meet SRK. After the launch event, SRK went off stage with his manager and bodyguards to meet them. Fans shook hands with him and kissed SRK’s hand. A female fan at the event asked SRK, “Can I give you a kiss?” Before King Khan replied, she grabbed his face and kissed him on the cheek. SRK was seen blushing after the moment.
