UAE President Welcomed With Official Reception at Villa Borsig in Berlin

During the UAE President’s official two-day state visit to Germany, UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was welcomed formally by German President, His Highness Frank-Walter Steinmeier at the Villa Borsig located in Berlin’s historic lakeside.

A ceremony was held at the reception where the national anthems of UAE and Germany were played and the ceremonial guard of honour took place. The protocol highlighted the significance of the longstanding bilateral relationship both countries give to it.

Sheikh Mohamed Meets German Officials

At the reception, the meeting was held with the German ministers and high-ranking government officials. President Steinmeir also received the members of the high-level UAE delegation that accompanied the President.

Sheikh Mohamed signed the Villa Borsig VIP guestbook, wishing continued efforts to further enhance the relations between UAE and Germany. It is the first state visit to Germany made by him since assuming the role.

Strengthening UAE-Germany Relations

The visit is part of Abu Dhabi and Berlin’s efforts to deepen ties in the President’s presence in a number of key fields, such as energy, trade, technology and investment.

The two countries have had strong economic and diplomatic ties over the years and have potential for deeper cooperation in burgeoning new areas like Renewable energy, artificial intelligence and advanced technologies.

During the visit, the two sides also have an opportunity to discuss issues of common interest in the region and internationally, as well as strengthen their general strategic partnership.
