UAE-Born Kaziah Liz Mejo Wins Miss Universe India 2026: Here’s All You Need to Know

Nineteen-year-old Kaziah Liz Mejo has been crowned Miss Universe India 2026, marking a major milestone in her young pageant career. The proud winner at the grand finale event, was a law student and professional model who beat 52 finalists from all over India at Zee Studios, Jaipur.

From Abu Dhabi to the National Crown

Although Kaziah’s family roots are in Mavelikkara, Alappuzha district, Kerala, she was raised in Abu Dhabi. She got qualified education in the UAE at Emirates National school, St. Joseph’s School and Abu Dhabi Indian School; thereafter she went to India for further studies.

These years in the UAE strengthened her confidence, her communication skills, as well as international mindedness. Her subsequent move was to Bengaluru where she is studying law while continuing her career as a model.

Multi-Talented Performer

Kaziah’s experience is much bigger than pageantry. She trained herself for 12 years in Classical Dance and being a musician, she plays the violin and drums as well.

Another activity in which she has had some experience is acting and she made her debut in the Malayalam film “Shylock“. From dance to modelling she has a strong theatrical background, giving her lots of experience of performing in front of an audience.

Kaziah’s last question was which sounded silent in her life. The answer that she responds with was on the calmness that she usually has right before she goes on a stage.

She said even though she is busy with the show, the few moments before she takes to the stage brings a peace of mind and belongingness to her. She said that’s when her heart would let her breathe and she knows she’s in the right spot.

Who Will Kaziah Represent Next?

Kaziah will now dress up as Miss Universe to represent India in November’s 75th Miss Universe contest in San Juan, Puerto Rico, after winning the National competition. She has competed and triumphed as Miss Teen Diva 2024, first runner up in Miss Teen International 2025 as well as winning Miss Universe Kerala 2026.

Now, her next performance will take her UAE upbringing, Kerala culture and performance experience into the international arena.
