Under the UAE’s humanitarian operation ‘Gallant Knight 3’, a couple of convoys carrying Emirati humanitarian aid entered the Gaza Strip recently through the Egyptian Rafah Crossing. This latest dispatch has brought the total number of convoys to date to 121.

UAE President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed launched the operation in the Gaza Strip in 2023. It has been continuing for 12 months already, offering critical relief supplies to scores of displaced Palestinian families as the brutal Israel-Hamas fighting rages on.

UAE’s contributions under ‘Gallant Knight 3’ in Gaza

This time, the UAE sent 288 tonnes of humanitarian aid, including medical supplies, food, children’s nutritional supplements, clothing, shelter materials and other essential items. It reflects the Gulf state’s unflinching commitment to helping those in need.

The latest shipment brings the total number of aid trucks sent to the Gaza Strip under the humanitarian operation to 1,055, delivering a total of 17,312 tonnes of aid. These contributions have been mitigating the harsh conditions Palestinians face.

HH Mohamed bin Zayed has also established a field hospital in Gaza under the operation. Since its inception, the facility has treated close to 50,000 injured people. It has numerous departments and specialised clinics.

In order to better treat sick and injured Palestinians, the UAE has also sent a floating hospital to Egypt, after making it capable of offering adequate healthcare and performing special surgeries. Since its activation, the facility has treated 5,040 cases already.

UAE offering extensive treatment to sick, injured Gazans

The UAE leadership has announced a campaign to evacuate 1,000 injured Palestinian children and 1,000 cancer patients from Gaza and bring them to different Emirati hospitals for treatment. The initiative has been continuing for many months.

Just recently, the ‘Gallant Knight 3’ operation helped bring 86 critically injured patients from the territory, including children and cancer patients in need of extensive treatment. 124 of their family members also accompanied the patients.
