There is a program in the United Arab Emirates, called UAE unemployment insurance. This insurance assists the workers in both the public and the private sectors if they are laid off at any one time. It provides them with money to assist during this period which is considered to be difficult. Who can get this help, how to ask for it, and what to do now?

Who Is Entitled To UAE Unemployment Insurance?

This insurance money cannot be gotten by everyone who has lost his or her job. Here are the rules for UAE unemployment insurance:

1. This has to be done for at least twelve consecutive months, the insurance having been paid for by the policyholder. This is the time you would not be expected to pay for it if you missed for up to 3 months.

2. You are also required to have paid all your insurance premiums on time.

3. You could not have quit your job. Your employer must have terminated your job (this is termination in employment).

4. If your job was terminated, you will not be in a position to get the insurance if you have been laid off for performing an unlawful activity at the workplace.

5. You can only request the insurance within the first 30 days of losing your job.

6. You cannot be complained against for not getting to work.

7. One thing that you cannot do is try to deceive the system into receiving unemployment insurance in the UAE.

8. They are meant for the legal residents of UAE only and you cannot get the insurance unless you meet this requirement.

9. You cannot get insurance if you lose your job due to strikes, wars, and other events that are not considered as normal job losses.

2. If all appears to be well they will ask for a ‘travel report’. This is a sign that you are still in the UAE.

3. Before your visa is canceled you need to get this travel report. You can obtain it from some offices of the government or even through an application which is called Dubai NOW.

4. But once you get the travel report which has details of the incident, you are supposed to upload it on the insurance company’s website.
