The UAE has a notable focus on humanitarian efforts across the globe. Since the beginning of the Israel-Hamas conflict in 2023, the Gulf state has been supplying tonnes of aid to the Gaza Strip in order to sufficiently alleviate people’s suffering.
Russian troops marched into Ukraine in the early months of 2022. The UAE has been facilitating multiple Russia-Ukraine prisoner exchanges, helping thousands of people get back home safely. The Gulf state’s support for humanitarian aid is also going strong.
UAE offered her a “lifeline, a chance to start over”
Khaleej Times recently reported about a Palestinian-Ukrainian student. She had long been dreaming of becoming a doctor. But as the fierce ‘special military operation’ of Russia unfolded in her country, she lost all hope.
She used to study medicine at O O Bogomolets National Medical University in Ukraine. Since going to Palestine to continue her studies didn’t appear as an option, she had no other choice but to put her aspirations on hold.
But things started moving in a positive direction as the UAE offered her a “lifeline, a chance to start over”. Recently, she stood proudly among 561 graduates at Gulf Medical University’s 21st graduation ceremony at Thumbay Medicity, UAE.
UAE supporting aspirations of Ukrainian, Palestinian students
Just like the aforementioned Ukrainian-Palestinian student, there is a Palestinian boy aiming to become a doctor. He also found it almost impossible to fulfill his dream as conflict and instability struck home.
The UAE supported his aspirations. Consequently, the Palestinian boy also recently graduated from the Gulf Medical University. The graduation ceremony symbolised the resilience of students ready to overcome unimaginable challenges for their dreams.
