UAE and Iraqi Presidents discuss bilateral relations and Middle East crisis
HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, President of UAE, and HE Dr Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, President of Iraq, recently discussed fraternal relations and steps to enhance bilateral cooperation in order to better support mutual interests.
Both the UAE and Iraq are seeking progress and prosperity for their peoples. During the meeting, both leaders analysed bilateral cooperation, especially in the economic sector, in addition to clean energy. They are looking to expand these areas of collaboration further.
Middle East needs a clear path for lasting peace
The Iraqi President described the UAE as his second home, reaffirming his country’s commitment to further strengthening cooperation to better support their shared interests and benefit their peoples and the broader region.
The recent meeting touched on a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern, including the Middle East crisis. The UAE and Iraqi Presidents emphasised the need for a clear path for lasting peace.
The leaders underscored the importance of diplomatic methods that support the aspirations of the peoples for security and stability. The Middle East situation continues to make headlines as humanitarian needs in the affected areas remain substantially high.
UAE’s consistent approach in supporting Iraq’s stability
HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, President of UAE, reaffirmed the strength of UAE-Iraq relations and the UAE’s consistent approach to supporting Iraq’s stability and its people’s aspirations for prosperity and progress, as per official media reports.
His Highness expressed the UAE’s keenness to enhance bilateral collaboration. In his response, President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid commended the Gulf state’s hospitality and steadfast support for the people of Iraq.
