UAE Aid Agency Concludes DIHAD 2026 Participation With ‘Made for Good’ Charter Initiative

The UAE Aid Agency concluded its participation in the 22nd DIHAD 2026 with a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening the country’s global humanitarian efforts. The event was held at Dubai World Trade Centre from 24th to 26th August.

A key item was the launching of the UAE’s ‘Made for Good’ Charter, a new single framework for UAE humanitarian and charitable organizations. The effort aims to increase the coordination, transparency, sharing of data and measurement of impact of foreign aid interventions.

‘Made for Good’ Charter Brings Aid Efforts Together

The charter sets out a common set of standards for UAE-origin assistance in the international realm. It aims to harmonize reporting and impact assessment processes to minimize duplication while enabling humanitarian organizations to join forces more effectively.

Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works, Sharjah Charity Association, Sakr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Charity and Humanitarian Foundation and the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council are among the founding signatories.

Focus Shifts Towards Long-Term Community Resilience

UAE humanitarian and philanthropic leaders talked about the challenge posed by the ever increasing shortage of aid across the globe during a round table on foreign aid. More than short-term crisis support, discussions focussed on programming to build local capacity and resilience.

The discussions also emphasized the need to adhere to international standards of aid reporting and to collaborate more closely with the governments of beneficiaries. This coordination may facilitate the response to local economic, infrastructure and development needs in services.

New Partnerships Expand Humanitarian Capabilities

The UAE Aid Agency also inked strategic memoranda of understanding with the UAE Space Agency and Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy.

The AGDA partnership is the one with the focus on diplomatic capacity building, training of human carers and research in foreign assistance. Meanwhile, the cooperation with the UAE Space Agency is meant to be revisited by the UAE and study the potential of satellite and earth observation data in the field of disaster assessment and response planning.

The ‘Made for Good’ Charter embodies an overall aspiration to advance the harmonisation, measurement and sustainability of humanitarian action. Synchronized aid activities, combined with diplomatic skills and space-based technology, will increase the UAE’s capacity in the face of complex emergencies.

Given the high and increasing demand for humanitarian assistance in today’s world, but limited resources, the focus is on efficiency, the capacity of local communities and tangible development results.
