The United Arab Emirates Cabinet accepted a revolutionary plan to include artificial intelligence as a compulsory subject in government schools for students from kindergarten through Grade 12, beginning next academic year. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum revealed the new curriculum as the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai while making a strategic decision to train students for an AI-dominated world. The UAE has reached a crucial point in their long-term educational goals because this decision will provide advanced technological skills to their youth who will become future workforce leaders of a different digital realm than existing systems.

Comprehensive AI Education and Ethical Framework
Sheikh Mohammed commended the Ministry of Education for creating an educational program which includes studying artificial intelligence from both practical and moral perspectives. Sheikh Mohammed commended the Ministry of Education’s work developing an extensive educational framework because students will learn technical aspects of artificial intelligence as they study ethical considerations and data concepts and algorithms and their applications and evaluation alongside potential dangers of this revolutionary technology.
He said, “We appreciate the efforts of the Ministry of Education in developing a comprehensive curriculum, affirming that artificial intelligence will transform the way the world lives. Our goal is to teach our children a deep understanding of AI from a technical perspective, while also fostering their awareness of the ethics of this new technology, enhancing their understanding of its data, algorithms, applications, risks, and its connection to society and life.”
The educational program provides complete knowledge about AI’s role in daily existence to train students for working in a future world shaped by artificial intelligence. The UAE brings AI education to all educational levels to help students build fundamental AI skills from their first days of school until advanced capabilities develop in their higher grades.
