Shakira 2026 ticket warning

Gulf fans are eagerly anticipating Shakira’s Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour in the Gulf later this year. But while the hype is going on, authorities and official ticketing sites are alerting concert fans to a significant increase in online ticket scams and reselling.

Official pre-sale tickets have sold out in minutes and unofficial listings are now overwhelming social media platforms like X, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook. A number of the tickets, which were sold at about AED 450, are being sold for AED 1,500 or higher, creating a risk of being able to purchase tickets without paying and a risk for fans to not be allowed in the venue.

New “Lead Booker” Rule

Of the many differences for the 2026 tour, one of the most significant is that ticket ownership will be verified more strictly. The organizers at such venues, such as Boulevard City and Coca-Cola Arena, are connecting the QR code on the ticket directly to the original purchaser.

Security will ask for Emirates ID or passport verification before letting fans into the concert. Tickets can be cancelled immediately if the name on the ticket is not the same as the name of the attendee (no refunds). This means it’s very risky to purchase tickets from unofficial social media ticket sellers.

Why Do Ticket Screenshots No Longer Work?

In 2026, the tickets are no longer printable, but dynamic QR codes are used in modern ticketing systems. Official apps update QR codes periodically to prevent duplicate codes and resale.

That means that fans get to venue gates with screenshots, forwarded PDFs or WhatsApp ticket images that often aren’t of any use at all. Scammers are exploiting this by claiming to be screenshots, but are not valid when scanned.

Triple-Price Trap on Social Media

A second big problem this year is the overcharging of resale prices. Tickets were selling at normal prices and are now online for triple the price.

There are some scammers that send out confirmation emails with information that has been altered and fake seat descriptions to trick buyers into believing that the tickets are legitimate. In a few reported instances, concerts have been sold out more than once and caused a lot of confusion and disappointment at the venue.

Safest Way to Buy Resale Tickets

The consumer protection agencies in the UAE and Saudi Arabia are urging fans to only buy tickets from official resale sites that are linked to a reputable ticketing company like Platinumlist, Ticketmaster or Virgin Tickets.

These platforms transfer the ownership of the ticket legally, and create a new QR code in the name of the new buyer. This drastically lowers the incidence of scams and ensures hassle-free entry to venues.

Advice for Fans

Those who didn’t catch the initial ticket sale should not feel compelled to go for a social media promotion. Many organizers issue extra “production tickets” near the concert date after the stage layouts have been determined. Typically these tickets are sold at face value via official venues.

With excitement building up around Shakira’s Gulf concerts, fans should not be in a hurry to attend; safety should be their priority. Spending large amounts of money with strangers on the internet can lead to ultimate loss and rejection by the venue gate.
