In a remarkable development, the Human Resources Development Fund of Saudi Arabia has helped more than 153,000 people get employed in the private sector during the first half of 2024, according to official media reports.

The fund has been reported to have disbursed a staggering SAR3.79 billion ($1.01 billion) to private sector establishments to facilitate training, employment and other forms of support programmes during this period.

Encouraging Saudi private sector to contribute to localisation

The Director-General of the Saudi fund said that about 1.4 million people in the country and some 100,000 establishments operating in different vital sectors benefited from the programme, as per Saudi media reports.

The fund is aimed at developing Saudis’ skills, increase their participation in the labour market and encourage the private sector to contribute to localisation. It is keen to handle the needs of the business sector and the demand for skilled Saudi nationals.

The fund is also helping develop training and guidance support programmes targeting national personnel, contributing to achieving the goals set by the Saudi Vision 2030 concerning human capacity development and labour market strategy.
