Riyadh: Joy Awards 2024 features some of the most celebrated regional and international talents

In its third year currently, Joy Awards is one of the most coveted prizes in the region, honoring talents across film, television, sports and even social media. It is organised by Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority and broadcast live on MBC channels and Shahid.

This year, the award ceremony in the capital Riyadh on Saturday evening featured some of the most celebrated regional and international talents. The Kingdom’s Bakr Al-Sheddi Theatre laid out the lavender carpet for some of the biggest stars in entertainment.

Few more highlights from the star-studded Riyadh event

Prominent actor and filmmaker Kevin Costner received the Lifetime Achievement Award. In his acceptance speech, he praised Saudi’s emerging role in the global film industry and encouraged local storytelling, stressing the importance of nurturing homegrown talents.

Meanwhile, Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, a recipient of the Honorary Entertainment Makers Award, can be heard saying in her acceptance speech: “It’s truly an extraordinary night. I’m obsessed with movies, it’s all I know.”

Bhatt attended the Riyadh event in a stunning red, blue and golden saree. She has also been nominated for the Best Actor In A Leading Role (Female) award for her performance in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani at the Filmfare Awards 2024 on January 27 and 28.
