Racing Star And Philanthropist Hamda Taryam Passes Away At 24

Hamda Taryam, a 24-year-old Emirati, sadly passed away early on Saturday. She was known for her racing career and her work as a philanthropist. She has also established the Hamda Foundation.

Her funeral was held on Saturday evening at the Al-Sahaba Mosque in Sharjah. People showed their respect for her family. For men, this will be at the Wasit Suburb Council, and for women, at her father’s house in Al-Juraina One.

Hamda became famous as a teenager for her racing and was the star of the Netflix show ‘The Fastest.’ She was inspired by the Emirati founding father, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, to do good deeds. She helped the needy and sick and looked for ways to assist those in distress.

She did many charitable things, like digging a well in a poor village in Uganda in her mother’s name and opening a classroom in her father’s name. She also set up a medical center in Msaka village, named after herself.

Friends and family say Hamda’s impact will last forever. In 2021, she told that she learned the value of helping others from her parents and the late Sheikh Zayed.

Hamda Taryam funded the projects in Uganda with her own money, saving from her salary. The total cost was around Dhs737,000, not including ongoing expenses like salaries and medicines.

The medical center she built took a year to complete and has 8 rooms, including maternity rooms and a pharmacy.

After her death, many people are sharing their sadness on social media. Munzir Al Muzaki Al Shamsi, an Emirati media personality, expressed his condolences.

Apart from racing, Hamda was a businesswoman. She used her earnings to build a school and hospital in Uganda. She once said that seeing the children enter the school she built made her cry, as many were orphans and the school was their only hope.

Her last social media posts were on Snapchat, talking about her day and a trip to Abu Dhabi. The cause of her death has not been disclosed.
