HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced on Sunday a major cabinet reshuffle in the country after the approval of President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.
The cabinet includes the appointment of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, and HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, the Foreign Minister, as Deputy Prime Ministers of the UAE.
Sheikh Hamdan has also been appointed the Minister of Defence. He expressed his appreciation of the decision on Sunday afternoon, thanking the President and the Prime Minister of the country for their “precious trust and assignment”.
Notable changes as part of UAE cabinet reshuffle
“Sheikh Hamdan is a true supporter. He is a leader who loves people and is loved by them. We have high confidence that he will be a valuable addition to the UAE government, and a major contributor to shaping the future of the UAE,” Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed said.
His Highness also announced the merger of the Emirates Schools Establishment (ESE) and the Federal Agency of Early Education with the Ministry of Education and the appointment of Sarah Al Amiri as the Minister of Education of the UAE.
The cabinet reshuffle also includes the appointment of Abdulrahman Al Awar as acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, besides his current post as Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation.
