Mohammad Yahya UAE's First UFC

Mohammad Yahya is a special person. He’s the first UAE-based fighter to enter the biggest fighting competition in the world, UFC. This Saturday, he will face off with a Brazilian fighter named Kaue Fernandes in Abu Dhabi for a big fight.

At 14, Yahya started fighting. He worked hard; he sacrificed a lot to be where he is regarding fighting. Now, he wants to make his country proud by winning his fight at home.

Don’t miss Mohammad Yahya’s exciting UFC match today! The fight is scheduled for 9:30 PM Indian Standard Time (IST).

Train Hard Every Day

Yahya trains every day. He wakes up early in the morning, has some breakfast, and heads to the gym. He trains in wrestling, boxing, and many other fighting skills before he rests. Then he goes back to the gym to train more. “It’s very tiring,” he said, but he insists it takes this much to be a champion.

He does not put whatever food is available in front of him on the table just because he is a fighter. He needs to be on a strict diet, most especially before fights, and he does not eat sweets and chocolates even though he likes them. He also does not go out with friends on weekends but rather rests and takes good care of his body.

Family Support

When Yahya started fighting, his family was happy. They saw how it made him more disciplined and focused. Even when none of his family members did sports, they supported his dream to become a great fighter.

He tells young people who want to be a fighter to ‘dream big, work hard’. He says even if one is not talented or naturally gifted for the sport, he can still reach goals if he works hard enough. He believes that if he can do it, then anyone can do so.

Popular Fight Events Start to Grow

Yahya feels extremely excited to see more and more Arab fighters, including women, taking part in this sport. In his view, it is just great that his favourite sport is gaining so much popularity in his part of the world.
