Eid Al Adha is celebrated to honour the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son Ishmael under God’s command. It is one of the main holidays celebrated in Islam. It falls on the tenth day of Dhu al-Hijjah in the Islamic lunar calendar.

It marks the culmination of the Hajj (pilgrimage) rites in the holy city of Mecca in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Hajj, a once-in-a-lifetime duty for every able-bodied Muslim, will begin on June 26. Arafat Day will be celebrated on Tuesday, and Eid Al Adha celebrations will start on Wednesday, June 28. Recently, the Hajj and Visit Committee of Saudi Arabia reported 580,000 pilgrims arriving in the Holy City of Mecca for this year’s Hajj.
Every year, Muslims travel to the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj. Hajj is one of the main pillars of Islam. The annual pilgrimage usually lasts for about four to six days. Eid Al Adha coincides with the Hajj pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca.
